CFB Shilo Soldier Charged in Shooting of Fellow Soldier During Training

SHILO, MANITOBA - A soldier from the 2nd Battalion, Princess Patricia's Canadian Light Infantry (2 PPCLI) was charged here today by the Canadian Forces National Investigation Service (CFNIS) in relation to the shooting and injuring of a fellow soldier while conducting weapons training here in May.

Cpl Dylan Nash, was charged with one count of Criminal Negligence Causing Bodily Harm, pursuant to Section 221 of the Criminal Code, one count of Careless Use of a Firearm, pursuant to Section 86 of the Criminal Code and one count of Negligent Performance of Duty, contrary to Section 124 of the National Defence Act.The CFNIS is an independent Military Police unit with a mandate to investigate serious and sensitive matters in relation to National Defence property, DND employees and CF personnel serving in Canada and abroad.
